Fresh fish 

Fresh fish is a great way to incorporate lean protein into your diet, including sea bass, which is a white fish with a delicate flavour and texture that is highly prized by chefs. Steaming is a great way to cook fresh fish, and sea bass works particularly well with South-East Asian flavours - try steaming it with ginger and chilli and topping with a little of our incredible aged soy sauce and spring onions.

We have such a wide range of exceptional shellfish at Fine Food Specialist, which means there will always be something new and exciting to try. Our range of specialist prawns includes hard-to-find treasures such as obsi blue and carabineros prawns, guaranteed to add a touch of luxury to your January meals! 

Oysters are at their best during cold-water months such as January, so ensure you make the most of this time by consuming as many as possible! Packed full of nutrients and with a spectacular flavour, oysters are the perfect snack or simple starter. Try dressing in different ways, using seasonal ingredients such as blood orange, or stay classic with Tabasco and a mignonette.

We also have a range of crab and king crab, including brown crab, blue swimmer crab, soft shell crab, and king crab and snow crab clusters. We also stock live lobster, and sell frozen lobster meat, which can be kept on hand for a touch of luxury whenever you need it. 

Scallops also add a special touch to a meal. Try pan-frying them and serving with mashed potatoes, a cauliflower puree, or try our recipe for pan-fried scallops on potato rosti with oscietra caviar, for a simple but stunning starter or light lunch.

Sashimi-grade fish 

We also stock a range of sashimi-grade fish, which can be served raw as part of a sashimi, within salmon recipes or a sushi platter. It’s very important to select the correct grade of fish when you are eating it as sashimi; this fish has passed inspection and has been deemed of the very highest quality. We only sell the very best cuts of sashimi-grade fish at Fine Food Specialist. 

Choose from sashimi favourites such as salmon and tuna, or try our sashimi selection box, which contains 3 fish and accompaniments. 

We also stock tobiko, otherwise known as flying fish roe. Our range includes varieties such as orange tobiko, yellow yuzu tobiko and green wasabi tobiko, among others.
