Making Boiron Fruit Puree Cocktails and Desserts

At Fine Food Specialist, we stock a range of Boiron fruit purees that can be used for making fun fruit desserts and cocktails. The wide range of flavours means you can make desserts and drinks all year round, and they can also be frozen to use as needed, so you don’t need to worry about wastage.

Desserts

Use Boiron fruit purees in place of fresh fruit in your desserts for a more intense flavour and a guaranteed-to-impress result. While fresh fruit is fantastic, it can be inconsistent - with fruit purees you are getting the flavour you want without any of the hassle.

Stunning ice creams and sorbets

These Boiron raspberry, Morello cherry or apricot fruit purees will all make fantastic sorbets - perfect for a hot day or adding the finishing touch to a dessert. Fruit purees are also a great alternative when fresh fruit is out of season. The Alphonso mango season, for example, is short (just 6 weeks) so our Alphonso mango fruit puree is a way to get that flavour you are craving. The perfume of Alphonso mango is very intense, and it is considered one of the best-tasting mangoes in the world. Simply churn the fruit puree in an ice cream maker with a squeeze of lime juice and you will have an incredible dessert with hardly any effort (if you don’t have an ice cream maker this can be done in a Tupperware box with a tight lid - remove the lid and break up the ice crystals with a fork every couple of hours). For a lighter sorbet, try incorporating 1 egg white whipped to stiff peaks into the mixture before freezing.

Any of our Boiron fruit purees could be used to make a ripple through a vanilla ice cream: simply swirl the puree of your choice through the ice cream towards the end of churning/freezing. Or, use a puree such as Boiron coconut puree to change the flavour of your ice cream entirely!

We also love to layer up ice cream sundaes with fruit puree, such as this stunning white peach puree or use this rhubarb fruit puree and softly whipped cream to make a fruit fool.

Ice lollies

Since the fruit puree can be frozen, it’s an easy and quick way to make ice lollies for hot summer days. Simply blend the puree with a little water and freeze (with some fresh fruit too, if you like).

Add some bling to your bakes

Fruit purees are ideal for adding the finishing touches to baked goods such as cakes, tray bakes, brownies, biscuits and much more. Why not try using Boiron wild strawberry puree or passion fruit puree to your buttercream or frosting, for example? Some banana puree would work well swirled through some brownies before baking.

Drinks

Boiron fruit purees are a handy ingredient to have on standby for pepping up drinks, coolers and cocktails. A spoonful or two will transform your drinks from bland to exciting. Everyone will want to know your secrets!

Milkshakes and smoothies

Bring some real flavour to your milkshakes and smoothies by using fresh fruit purees - they have more intensity of flavour than individual fruits, and you will be amazed by the results. Simply whizz milk, fruit puree (we love strawberry or raspberry) with a scoop (or two!) of vanilla ice cream and enjoy one of the best milkshakes you’ve ever had. The same works for smoothies: use the purees to enhance the taste of the fruit and save those fresh fruits for garnish.

Cocktails

Of course, one of the most popular ways to use Boiron fruit purees is in cocktails. Try using flavours such as blackcurrant fruit puree to make a version of a Bramble cocktail with gin, lemon juice and plenty of crushed ice.

Or why not infuse your cocktails with the beautiful scent of bergamot? This citrus fruit is used to make earl grey tea but it can also be used to flavour drinks and desserts, like this bergamot custard tart.

Fruit purees are also exactly what you need to make the perfect summer punch: focus on tropical flavours such as pineapple and lychee puree, or try stone fruits such as apricot for the best results. You could also try one of our ready-made cocktail mixes!

Long Coolers

Long, cooling drinks are essential during hot weather but water can get very boring. Adding some watermelon puree to a jug with lots of crushed ice and still or sparkling water is a way to make hydration a lot more fun.
