Description

These apple tarts could not be simpler to make! Ready rolled puff pastry means you can have these ready in 20 minutes. Make sure to add lots of sugar to the top, as there is none in the pastry. You could also add some frangipane under the apples, or some flaked almonds on top.

  • 320g ready rolled puff pastry
  • 3 red apples, very finely sliced (a mandoline is helpful here)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
  • Around 3 tablespoons caster sugar
  • Apple blossom
  1. Preheat the oven to 200C.
  2. Cut the pastry into 3 equal pieces and place onto baking trays.
  3. Fan the sliced apples over the pastry, and brush the pastry and apples with the beaten egg.
  4. Sprinkle well with sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until risen and golden.
  6. Top with the apple blossoms to serve.
