Description
These quail birds come already spatchcocked to make this super speedy and will cook in no time! We've marinated them in honey and five spice for a delicious, punchy twist. The spatchcock ensures that the meat remains tender and succulent too.
This is a great recipe to pull out for a casual BBQ session in the sun when you're craving something a bit different to the usual burgers and typical barbecue fare. We also have a few other spatchcock birds that you could use in place of the quail if you need a more substantial option, such as our spatchcocked chicken and poussin.
- 4 quail
- 2 teaspoons five spice
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- Combine the five spice, honey and lime juice with some salt and rub all over the quails. Set aside for 20 minutes.
- Light the barbecue for direct cooking. Cook the quail for around 5 minutes each side and serve immediately.
